I learned to sew as a child sitting beside my great grandmother, watching her turn fabric into something useful, comforting, and lasting. There was nothing rushed about the way she worked. Sewing was simply part of life — something done with patience, care, and intention.
I didn’t realize it then, but those quiet moments shaped the way I create today.
Through Ruth Christine & Co., I design heirloom-inspired quilt patterns and create wearable textile pieces using vintage and reclaimed fabrics. My work is rooted in the belief that handmade things carry meaning — not because they’re perfect, but because they’re made slowly, thoughtfully, and by hand.
I know how intimidating quilting and sewing can feel, especially when it seems like everyone else already knows exactly what they’re doing. That’s why I approach my patterns differently. I want them to feel approachable, encouraging, and calm — like someone sitting beside you reminding you that you do not have to do everything perfectly to create something beautiful.
I’m especially drawn to vintage textiles because they already hold a story. Worn fabric, faded stitching, softened edges — these things remind me that beauty grows through use, time, and care. I love giving those materials a second life in a way that feels both practical and meaningful.
More than anything, I hope my work helps people slow down and reconnect with making something with their hands. Not for perfection. Not for productivity. Just for the simple joy of creating something that lasts.
Whether you’re picking up sewing for the first time or returning to it after years away, I’m glad you’re here.
